Registration is now open for the 2027 Inclusion Summit on Early Learning and Child Care! This annual professional learning event is open to all early learning professionals who are passionate about creating inclusive spaces where all children can thrive in the early years.

About

Inclusion Summit on Early Learning and Child Care


The Inclusion Summit welcomes anyone who works with young children in an early learning setting, including child care centre program directors, classroom teachers, educational assistants, and family dayhome educators.


This year’s Summit will include a welcome message and keynote address by Zachary Weeks followed by a full day of learning with Dr. Shelley Moore. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with likeminded professionals and browse the vendor hall between learning sessions.

Speakers



Dr. Shelley Moore

Dr. Moore is a teacher, researcher, speaker, and storyteller with a background in inclusive and special education, curriculum, and teacher professional development. She works with school districts and community organizations locally, nationally, and internationally to support practical, evidence-based approaches to increase access for all learners.

Zachary Weeks

Born and raised in Edmonton, Zachary is an accessibility and inclusion advocate and spokesperson on disability issues. Zachary was a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 and is an alumnus of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. He has served as co-chair of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities planning committee in Edmonton from 2011 to the present.

Policy Invitational

This half-day learning session with Dr. Moore will explore inclusion in the early years through a research and policy lens. Policymakers and researchers whose work relates to early learning, inclusion, and childhood disability will benefit from attending.
