Kids Included’s volunteer Board of Directors is recruiting.

About Kids Included (formerly GRIT)

All children, including those with disabilities, have a right to learn and grow in supportive, inclusive settings. Kids Included uses evidence-based practices and supportive coaching to help families, caregivers, and early childhood educators support the inclusion, wellbeing, and participation of all young children in child care and early learning programs, family routines and activities, and broader community life. Families of children with disabilities have trusted us for over 40 years as a vital partner in supporting and advocating for their children.

Serving on the Board

Board culture is governance focused, strategic, efficient, and effective. Discussions are informed, interesting and collegial. Viewpoints are encouraged, respectful, and decisions respected. Directors bring perspectives appreciated by the CEO. Check out the current board directors here.

As an engaged member of the Kids Included Board, your skills, experience, networks, and insights can build a more inclusive future. We are seeking directors with previous board governance experience and strong business/community connections who have skills and experience in the following areas:

·        Legal

·        Finance

·        Business

·        Innovation and Entrepreneurship

·        Healthcare

·        Human Resources

Kids Included parents and alumni parents are encouraged to apply.

Diversifying the board's perspectives is a priority for excellence in decision-making. Welcoming applications from individuals who bring a variety of backgrounds and experiences, particularly those with a deep understanding of the challenges and successes faced by the children and families Kids Included serves, advances its governance.

The board meets eight times in the early evening from September to June and board members serve 3-year terms (maximum of 2 terms). New board members will be voted in at the Kids Included AGM on November 5, 2026.
